              Could someone smarter than me explain the second part of 3D's clue? I fear it's quite lost on me. Nonetheless the puzzle was very enjoyable!

                I can 😊 Mirroring the effect in the NYT crossword, all of the Across entries can be prefixed by RE (ie: REBAR, REEVE, RELASH, etc.), making them all "RE sorts."
