Names of games in wordplay are abbreviated to their initials. Two clues marked with * (3D and 12D) consist of wordplay only. 3D is a game that could be played on 4A and 6D. 12D is a game that could be played on a 17A. The highlighted squares form an anagram of a word that would typically describe all of the games mentioned in the grid and clues.
