      Some entries cross other entries that only differ by one letter (like NEARLY and EARLY), take that letter (in that case, the N). This happens 8 times across the grid. Anagram those letters to get the phrase EVIL TWIN

        Oh nice that is clever! I was focused on the "genetic" part of the title so was looking for entries with As Ts Gs and Cs or something 😂
