Today is George Washington Carver day in the US! Born a slave, Mr. Carver became a preeminent scientist, and contributed to victory in WWII by reinvigorating Southern agriculture.     For the record, botanically the peanut is neither a pea, nor technically a true nut. But I didn't want to do a 6X6 mini haha.

      Excellent theme! 7A was a good clue too. I remember learning about Carver a few years ago when a friend asked me to draw his portrait.
