    I'm the one who usually gets hung up trying to figure out pop culture clues, but I couldn't think of a concise way to say to the lee side of a hill, so.... close enough!

  I don't understand 16A, can someone explain? I see "Cuz" could mean "cousin" or "because" but maybe I'm missing some other angle...

    I think the "close enough" connection there was familiar terms of address such as bro or cuz. So indeed, cuz as in cousin! Definitely playing fast and loose with free association in writing these clues
