The title comes from the fact that the grid has 5 R's, which reminded me of 5 R's of Waste Management: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle.

I hope the parenthetical in 5D's clue didn't throw anyone off, the "TRESemmé, TRESemmé, ooh-la-la" jingle was stuck in my head.
