Took me two guesses, but I got it! I like what you guys did with this one. Will now try to look at it from the standpoint of a new solver.

Great job guys--an easy start to the werk

        Fun and clever. Thank you.

Very clever. It took a while for the second penny to drop, but when it did, it doubled my admiration.

Nice job! I did like 68A
68AWendy: Jewelry brand that billed itself as "Jet-Settier" / Rick: John, inventor of logarithms / Peter: Florida Gator football coach Billy[------]
. Peter's clue required no Googlin' for me.
                • Carolyn 4s · 5 months ago
Very clever. I had both answers but tried to link them somehow. Stopped trying and just submitted! Still puzzling over the MGWCC though.
                  • hoover 3s · 5 months ago
Love the shape of the grid! Also hooray for the logarithm clue because that's a name I know; would not have gotten it with just Wendy's and Peter's clues. I got the meta on the first try, but I don't understand how the 8LW fits other than to provide scaffolding for the 4LW. Is it like a flask that you put in your pocket?

First went with hint. Lint made me smile. Thanks.

Lol -- I was looking for a two-word phrase, trying to find a 4-letter word to go with the first

Ok now I need to ask...what is half pint lint!?!?
                            • Abide publisher · 5 months ago
Reread the prompt. Two words (8 letters and 4 letters) associated with a pocket. The words have separate associations. (There may be a stronger click for 🥃 drinkers😜)

                                Huh? I still don't get it...whoosh.

There is such a thing as "half-pint lint" -- see below. :)

                                  (I don't see anything "below")

Very nice and very fun, Folks! Knowing the way this forum veers, I was trying for something along the lines of a hip flask all along. But I do see a relationship between the two -- -- years of caring for two-year-old half-pints always found me with crumpled tissues and their other dregs and snippets in my pockets.

                                    52A
                                    52A*Continues to be (2)[------]
should be clued “*Continues to be (2)” rather than “*To continue to be (2)” to agree with the answer, EXISTS

Interestingly enough I had never heard of a Kangaroo word or any of its variants. How apropos that Nun of us thought how a convent may be something witch is ominous ; -)

Great puzzle! Love the fill and the shape of the grid! None of the 68A

clues were helpful for me, but now I’ve learned three new things!

Got it! After sending PM’s to Wendy….. I saw it in my PM! 😂 I liked this puzzle, very clever !! but I don’t see what “halfpint” has to do with pockets?

                                                  • ReB 4s · 5 months ago
Fumbled this one because I couldn't count to 8, I guess or I missed one of the stars/numbers. I don't know what short-circuited in my brain. Didn't really need the nudges except that I realized from them that there had to be 8 starred clues, and then the rest was straightforward after I replaced the fuse.
