[Not actually in the grid, but indirectly there through The Joy Luck Club]

Thanks, Sendhil - another fun one! I read this story to my granddaughter pretty much every day - she loves looking for the little mouse that's tucked away on each color picture. Nice to see Amy Tan in the grid. I just finished "The Backyard Bird Chronicle," which she wrote and illustrated based on watching and interacting with the birds that visited her backyard. Her drawings are phenomenal and it's a sweet, kind, interesting book.

Thanks for solving! I remember reading this book SO. MANY. TIMES. The first several dozen times I was like "why is this book famous, nothing even happens" but eventually I started to feel the poetry with the meter and the imagery and even the tone. Now I can still recite it almost by heart (and our kids are 14 and 12).

Unfamiliar with 24A, from looking at Wikipedia maybe this hint would give more chances: Cloud c_h___ with fellow astronomer Öpik.

          Good puzzle.
I had to reveal the square at 17D and 24A. Maybe add something with Gehrig for 17D (I'm terrible with sports, but have heard of the medical issue) 🤔
