    Great hidden wordplay for 1D, and I love the use of "caesar-shifted" for 2D!

      Thank you, that was fun! I especially liked "caesar-shifted" in 2d, but since I'd never heard of the answer, I was still stuck on it a while!
      I didn't quite get 6a, though. Could you please explain? It's "obscures" too effectively for me!

        No worries, that one was definitely tougher! It's reverse letter bank -- so each individual letter of NAKED DRESS is (when reordered) DARKENS.
        Some people prefer that letter banks (and reverse ones) have an anagram indicator mixed in, but the convention isn't totally solid. Sometimes I use one, sometimes I don't.
