Cryptic - Messaging

◆◆ · By quatrevingtneuf · Published 2022-10-25T15:15:16.594Z

It’s been a while since I’ve put a cryptic together! Got back into it recently while solving a few and remembering how much I enjoy them. I went with a slightly spooky theme for October.
There are a few PG13 clues in there; consider yourselves forewarned.

Fun! I got everything except OLIVE (can't quite figure out that parsing) and GNOMON (couldn't remember the second half of that word - very fun wordplay for MON though). The 1D clue is excellent!

Oliver (Twist) losing its end letter, GNO are the odd letters of ¨gang of".

Very tough and rewarding for me! Went with ANALYSE for 2D ... oh well, bad luck I guess.
