Nice, I kept trying to shoehorn ted in 1d before I remembered there were other characters... mightve helped if I actually consumed popular media

      Your media is popular, Merlin!

I laughed after getting both 1D and 5A - great puzzle!

        Excellent! Thanks, Sam!

        Thanks!
5A "Oddly" got me again! I assumed it meant odd letters in each word, not "every other letter". Can you explain how September's first words are DO YOU?

I am glad you enjoyed it, Oliver! Re 5A: I used “oddly” to denote every odd letter in the sequence, i.e., the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and so on. As for September…
“Do you remember, 21st night of September? Love was changing the mind of pretenders While chasing the clouds away”

At first, I thought 4A was breaking sequence, but I think this is meant as a lift-and-separate: i.e., take a "mountain" and put "half of Hans" on its "side." If that was the intent, very nice! Apart from that, I'm personally not a fan of arbitrary proper names ("Steve"), especially fake ones ("Fake Anubis"), but that's just me, and to that end 1D seems just the right level of absurdity and wit :)

Thanks, Aaron! I’m happy my 4A clue came across as intended, and that 1D struck the right notes with you. I hear you re: proper names. In this puzzle, I used them to make those clues more accessible and hopefully easier to solve. And I could totally see KEANU appearing in a film about a false Egyptian god of death. 😊 I really appreciate the in-depth feedback. It is immensely helpful!
