    The clue references multiple openly queer (ie: "out") superheroes. The entry follows the pattern from the original NYT crossword in which a phrase (in this case, "out here") is modified by changing the final E to O. Hope that helps!

      Okay that's what I thought at first but don't know much about comics. I looked up kitty pryde and all her listed partners were men so I thought I was on the wrong track haha. Good puzzle tho thank you!
