    Solvers! I think this one's moderately tricky, so thanks for trying it, and do let me know how you got on. Here's the wash-up for any you didn't catch:
    ACROSS 1A. Traitor = RAT, after "decks" initiated = D. 5A. Reversal of: finest = TOP + hack (journalist) = ED. 7A. Double def. 8A. anag.
