Nice little puzzle; a few queries:
    • 1A: Is this a double-def? I think [bests] works for LEADS, but [Personal] seems extraneous to me?
    • 5A: I totally buy [contraction] for abridgement, but if you want ABR, I think you need some sort of abbreviation indicator.
    • 1D: I like the double Spanish, but I'm not following the surface; ditto 3D's meaning.
I liked all the other clues, especially 2D, and I think you have some really cute hiddens.

As dilly said, Personal Best is leading to PB and onto Lead, which I know might be pushing it by some cryptic standards. noted on all the feedback though, thanks!

Thanks, fun puzzle & grid shape. Embarrassed how long it took me to see the hidden in 6A!
I agree with Aaron's comments re: 5A & some of the surfaces.
Is 1A meant to be "Personal bests" for "PBs" as in the atomic symbol for lead(s)? If so, I like that idea a lot, but I don't think it's totally fair by cryptic rules, since you're giving a clue that leads to another clue, rather than a part of the answer. If you explicitly put in "PBs" I might buy it, but I would definitely put a question mark on the clue.
Everything else was fair & fun, enjoyed it a lot!
