Terrific puzzle! Extremely satisfying. The misleading definitions did their job well. I was extremely stuck on 6D, until I realized I took the wrong homophone for 10A. Thanks :)

Hi! Enjoyed the puzzle, though I'm still a little mystified by 9A and 10A. Mind posting a breakdown?

No problem! I wish I could annotate every clue in crosshare. 9A: a double definition, one of which might not be universally known: "pulse" is the botanical name for legumes (when in dried seed form), such as peas, beans, lentils, etc. And of course, in the body, a pulse is a sign of life. 10A: a homophone of GRAY'S (as in the famous anatomist, of Gray's Anatomy fame)... though I now realize the indicator isn't the exact right form! Apologies for that.

        Alright, I just got 10A 😂

As usual I was rather slow on the uptake, but somehow got there in the end... thanks for the puzzle... majQa'

Very nice - some reveals needed.
Could you explain the definition for RAMEN, please?

Thanks! The def is "Popular college course?" where 'course' means meal. Since (cheap) ramen packets are a staple of the college diet (at least in the US)

Many thanks! I don't think RAMEN is a common name for cheap noodles in the UK, although I have heard the term. Thanks again!
