            i was so, so committed to getting this one w/o check or reveal, i spent fifteen minutes just staring at the grid making sure i didnt miss a hidden number, haha. wonderful puzzle as always!

          Spoiler: 6 (6A) + 8 (11A) + 10 (11A) + 2 (16A) + 1 (16A) + 8 (18A) + 2 (13D) + 2 (13D) = 39, but 36 & 37 are also valid answers bc I screwed up 13D’s / number / math…twice. Thanks @pufferfish @larryedelstein for catching the mistakes!
