      I'm pretty sure the clue for 7A is wrong:
      Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes
      Putting in KEVIN instead of ROALD would fit but might mess up some of the crosses. 🙂
      Maybe you were thinking of James and the Giant Peach?

        Thanks for pointing that out. The truly dumb thing is that I thought I had double-checked the clue but obviously I hadn't. I was able to salvage it because Willy Wonka is known for his purple coat, so the clue now reads "Dahl whose character Willy Wonka wore a purple coat." I really appreciate your pointing out the error!
