    cluing was really good in this puzzle! i like the rhyming clues with EWE and MOO, the cluing angle for MARIMBA, and the pun on TRI. the spanners DREAMON and IMEANIT were also great!

          I think Jack's referencing the fact that many singers bend up an octave halfway through that word, for dramatic effect.

          Fresh and fun! Thanks for sharing. @Sendhil, I think the clue on OER is a depiction of how so many anthem singers jump up (a 4th) on the word "free".
