For Baseball Nerds

I’ve been tinkering with a baseball nicknames puzzle for a while and finally settled on this iteration. I made the rest of the fill and clues as baseball and sports centric as I could manage so as to lean into the theme. Feedback welcome.

                Who can forget Eine "Kleine" Nachtmusik, the greatest German relief pitcher never to make the Hall. When he came in from the bullpen, the PA would play the classic Mozart piece, and indeed it was said that his ERA for innings after sundown was a full 1.5 runs lower than during daylight hours, although stats from that are spotty at best
