Yup, that was pretty rough going. A couple typos in clues: 32D "its" (no biggie) and 31A "Pomona" (which was very confusing).

Truly challenging. Most of the issues I had here could be resolved via cluing but I imagine that the main crux of the NYT refusal was owed to the SW, most notably the the crossing at 42-A/34-D. Looking forward to solving more of your work and hoping that it finds me on a similar wavelength!

I needed help there, with that Korean vegetable / Conrad dude, and also, I'm not sure why a mom would be a toaster, or that Michael Scott would end a sentence with "apt" (but I'll take your word for it)
