Constructor's Note
This was a recent NYT rejection. Upon second-review, I see why- all the PPP might have been a hick-up. Nonetheless I wanted to share it.

Yup, that was pretty rough going. A couple typos in clues: 32D "its" (no biggie) and 31A "Pomona" (which was very confusing).

Truly challenging. Most of the issues I had here could be resolved via cluing but I imagine that the main crux of the NYT refusal was owed to the SW, most notably the the crossing at 42-A/34-D. Looking forward to solving more of your work and hoping that it finds me on a similar wavelength!

I needed help there, with that Korean vegetable / Conrad dude, and also, I'm not sure why a mom would be a toaster, or that Michael Scott would end a sentence with "apt" (but I'll take your word for it)

Toaster as in one giving a toast (sat at a wedding)

Most of it was fine, fun even, but I didn’t like corkscrew for wrest. And the SW corner as noted was rough. Cheers otherwise, a good time overall
