Ok, this is my kind of meta. Sweetened cereal is one of my guilty pleasures, and Cap'n Crunch cereals have always been favorites. Every now and then a box of Oops! All Berries still finds its way into my grocery cart...
SSSweet as the cereal itself. Solved at Dublin airport. Thanks Peter!

Fun one! Wasn't my go to cereal (I was an Apple Jacks guy), but I did like it on occasion. Thanks for the puzzle!

Nice relaxing puzzle for a Sunday morning. There are very few cold cereals I don't like. Probably from growing up when they were all coated with sugar -- Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, Frosted Flakes.... I'm sure I'm giving away my age with this one!! Thanks, Peter.
Fun and cute but... apparently I don't watch enough television. Never heard of the first company or mascot. Never heard of the mascot for the second company. Seen the logo for the third company but never occurred to me it'd have a name. Never knew the last one had a name but I was able to guess it. It was the only one google merely confirmed (as opposed to actually doing my thinking for me).
But again. Cute and fun.

First company is a NYC icon due to it's invariably horrible commercials by the owner. SNL did a hilarious (and very naughty) spoof with Joe Piscopo as the owner. Sadly, the video does not seem to be available.

I think Carvel is a regional company. I've heard of it from references in books and movies (though can't remember exactly where at the moment) but never actually encountered it in the wild.
Very nice! Love me some Cap'n Crunch. One of the best sugary cereals, for sure.

Fun! My answer was wrong last night but now it's right apparently :-)

Fun! Although, the roof of my mouth suddenly turned raw. Thanks for the puzzle!

Fun clues. Had to google all the mascot names, though, to find the company names - and then I stared at the first letters a bit until the headslap moment. Enjoyable late Sunday afternoon snack.
I mean what else could it be? Since Kellogg's messed up and fumbled the name of their mascot (should have been Tommy the Tiger), the only good answer was Cap'n (Rick) Crunch. Probably easier for us older folks, and those formerly from Michigan (since I knew what you call a summer invader in Mackinaw).

Ah memory lane: Cap’n Crunch, Quisp, Lucky Charms, Apple Jacks. How could my parents let me eat so much sugar for breakfast?

fun one...and I only had to google one.
I knew Mayhem (great commercials) and I knew Julius (wife did a study in MBA program on pringles), but yeah did google fudgie (should have known), and quicky is obvious.
Also in Jersey (if you're from south of the Raritan) tourists are referred to as BENNY'S. (Bayonne, Elizabeth, Newark, and NY) but it's a bit bucket of any tourist.
There is some interesting data on Julius and his name. Two college students claim they made it up and added it to Pringles Wikipedia page. Then the new purchaser accepted as a fact and went with the name.
I’d have liked this puzzle better on a SATURDAY morning, while digging into a bowlful and watching the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour.

Wow it’s been a while since I’ve had Cap’n Crunch…do they still sell it? I suspect it would be way too sweet for me now. Ditto Lucky Charms and Life … other favorites! Fun reminiscence… we used to have Carvel weird commercials on Channel 5 out of Washington, D.C. — I remember the gruff, gravelly voice of the .. owner? (surely he wasn’t a hired voice actor!)

Alpha Bits, anybody? 1950s cereal of choice!

I've been on meta vacay for a few weeks, so now just catching up. This was a fun one, and easy Googling to find what was needed. Thanks!
