nice! the cluing was pretty tough, but i liked JORTS as an entry. one thing you might want to keep in mind is to have all white squares "checked"--all the white squares should be part of two clues. for example, the JO part of JORTS is unchecked, since it's only part of the word JORTS. for your first attempt at a crossword, this is very nice, can't wait to see more from you :D
