I just guessed at the meta, not sure how the answer is found.....
19A is misclued I believe? Sounds like a clue for AWL....that led.me to bring stumped on that box, leading to NOW for 6A and I had.to.give up.and check the puzzle.
Other than that I loved a.lot.of the cluing especially 17A and 28A
i loved 17A and 28A too. for 19A, i think the idea is that they're homophones, so it "sounds like a complete tool".
didn't know the meta, but very fun nonetheless!

Glad you enjoyed the cluing, the solution to the Meta is ORSAY as in Museé d'Orsay in Paris. Each theme answer had a French word in it (PrUNE, aDROIT, etc.) and there was the translated word in English (One, Right, etc.) elsewhere in the grid. Putting them all together they spelled ORSAY. The meta prompt gives a nod to the Museé d'Orsay's history in that although it is now an art museum it started out as a train station.

Figured that I'd get some double duty out of the Meta!
