Some hints for finding the meta once you've solved the crossword, but only if you really need help:
  1. Thirteen symmetrically-positioned entries are involved, including the two hints.
  2. Of the parts combined in order, over half are modified first, either by being converted, reduced, or redirected.
  3. Once you've assembled the meta string, you should know what to do with it (I certainly do).
