  5A: no longer cool; ASS (one acting stubborn) in (during) PE (gym class)

  1D: give a refill; TO + PUP (youngster who won't stop yapping)

  2D: storms; hidden in teachinG A LESson

  3D: midafternoon; [p]RE[p] without the ends in THE

  I'm curious: do you prefer longer explanations like above, or more terse ones relying more on notation (eg {r->T}IGHT)?

    I think the longer explanations are more helpful for clues you couldn't quite parse, personally.
