Overall a smooth solve. Really liked some of the clues (as a former teacher, 7D was particularly clever; I also liked 38A).
Overall, relatively little “glue” but 21A was a pretty bad entry. 52A was a very uncommon entry but to me the clue made it a bit worse; a less bad clue could have referenced the feminine of alone (like for a performer). On the other hand, the clue for 54A saved it. 20D and 37D were a bit forced but ok.
Many clues had non-standard punctuation or capitalization. This was not an impediment to solving, but a bit of a distraction (really because it was not wholly consistent).
Completely pedantic point on 24D: they don’t quite go “north-south”, but at 29º east of north-south. You could change to “uptown-downtown” instead.
