The One with the Theme

This is an old puzzle I made several years ago that I had forgotten about and just found again in a folder on my computer. It's not top-notch stuff and it has too many 3 letter answers, but I liked the theme.

        Fun, thank you! (Got most of the way downs-only and even picked up on the theme, but was a bit tripped up by the dupe between 3D and 28A.) And great title. (Even though now I have the theme song in my head.)

          Very nice work. I like the way the theme comes together. I enjoyed this one more than the Friends themed monthly puzzle the NYT did recently (in April, I think?).
