Me, consulting a list of words that would work with the crossing letters for 3D: "But nothing fits here! There's no word for "Site" tha- oh. Oh dear, Kieran."
Great work! LIT! I particularly enjoyed 1D and 12A. There's no one way to make a cryptic, but solvers will sometimes refer to whether each clue is Ximenean. Almost all of your clues pass that test (the "per" and 9A and "a" in 13A help with surface, but are superfluous for the wordplay), which made the crossword enjoyable for me.
@mike - I just thought of something. Would it be possible to separate cryptics from non-cryptics in dashboard stats (just like it works with metas)? Also, it would be interesting to have two different user ratings, one for cryptics and one for non-cryptics. It feels a bit odd that US-style puzzles can appear harder (in terms of the green/blue/black icon) just because of needing check/reveal to finish cryptics.
