  Very nice, thank you! 1D took me an age with the double definition, and 5A I finally got after I checked — I was stuck on using "storm" as a letterbank rather than as the indicator.

    i get that! double definition clues trip me up the most; minutecryptic taught me that those types of clues tend to be really short, so i default on looking for the double def when that happens. thanks for solving!
