- woozy costruttore · più di 2 anni faMy Very Elegant Mother Just Sat Upon Needles.In my youth it was My Very Elegant Mother Just Sat Upon Nine Porcupines although Just Served Us Nine Pizzas was also common. The mnemonic hasn't be consistently updated. Perhaps I'm taking an unfair shortcut in declaring it is Needles she sat upon rather than Noodles or Newspaper or Nails are Napkins but....

- Wendy S HeadinHome 47s · più di 2 anni faHad to do a reveal for the NW corner (and took quite a while to figure out JUPI needed to be JUPE so VENIPUNCTURE would have to become venepuncture, which still does not look right to me….). ANYhoo, I had given up the meta in frustration, thinking the odd clues were cryptograms (do NOT like cryptograms…), but later the presence of so many nudges at Muggles site gave me confidence to go at this again, and glad I did! I am the mnemonic QUEEN, because, well, the title. I can list lots of English painters, centuries of changing dynasties in the middle east, and many other very useless and obscure lists from history, because of mnemonics that have stuck in my head for years. Also the signs of cancer (C-A-U-T-I-O-N mnemonic, which I made up a tune to). Fun puzzle, after all!
- ReB 3s · più di 2 anni faNice mechanism, definitely needed the nudge to get started. It seems though that NAURU ISLAND should be 1-2 rather than 1-5. Grid was quite difficult.
- woozy costruttore · più di 2 anni fa1-5 refers to the first to 5th letter of NUARU (in other words all of them) and the 1-2 refers to the first to 2ne letter in ISLAND (i.e. IS) so NUARU IS anagrams to URANUS + I.
