In this crazy-looking 32-word (!) themeless, most answers are made-up phrases that get wacky clues. Normal answers have normal clues. (For example, "Vehicle that won't do much" could clue LAZYCAR). I found out about this concept here: https://downforacross.com/?search=wacky+weekend+warrior
I called this puzzle "crossword glue" because most answers are just random words "glued" together, and also "crossword glue" is one way to call subpar short crosswordese in standard puzzles.
Very clever. For me, it was a rough solve at first but I think it grew on me as I got there. (I gave up on downs-only very fast!) I think my favorite wacky entry was 10D. Thank you!
Liked it a fair bit actually. The crosses helped get the strange answers and it was easy to see what you were going for in assembling the random words together. Thanks!
