Think of each half of the clue as a circle in a Venn Diagram. The slash asks you to consider what each circle has in common - where do they overlap? It might be a common component, a word used in both contexts but with different meanings, a name, or some other shared trait. An explanation of the answers is on my JeffsPuzzles web site. I haven't seen something like this before - let me know what you think (I've got several more lined up for upcoming Wednesdays).
