My name is Ben Chenoweth, and I'm currently a teacher at Donvale Christian College, in Melbourne, Australia. I've worked overseas with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and in Australia as a secondary and tertiary teacher. (I was the Educational Designer / eLearning Coordinator at Melbourne School of Theology for four years, and taught at Eastern College for some of that time.)
My main interests are music, writing, theology and various combinations of those. I have a number of other interests, including reading, crosswords (especially cryptics and metas), and computer games. I also enjoy programming. My About Me website (https://www.ephesusscroll.com/about) was put together as an HTML/CSS demonstration for my Year 10 Computing class. Another interesting programming project is my EPUB Metadata Editor (an open-source project on GitHub).
Here's another MEOW from Down Under! This one is definitely on the harder side, I think. But there are hints to be had for those paying close attention. The answer to the meta is a composer (and it's not one of the composers in the image above…
Here's another MEOW for you where the grid entries are all made up and the clues don't matter. That's right, the clues are like signatures on credit cards or bank websites that prevent you pasting your ID number - two excellent examples of security…
The spark for this meta puzzle occurred when I misread the title of a themed crossword. When I went back to confirm the title, I decided then and there that my misreading deserved to become a puzzle in its own right. And now here it is! The answer to…
It's time for another Halloween-themed meta puzzle. This time, we're playing "Name The Horror Movie". The answer to the meta is the name of a horror movie very subtly hinted at in the 15-letter entries. (But I've provided a couple of different ways…
The first-ever high five appears to have happened in 1977 during a baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros. It was the last game of the season, and Dodgers outfielder Dusty Baker had just hit a home run - his 30th of the…
I know this looks like a Benchen71 take-over. But don't worry: MEOW programming from other contributors will continue next week! ;-) Until then... I remember as a child enjoying those "spot the difference" cartoons that would appear on the comics and…
This was another night-time meta idea that survived the cold light of day. That said, constructing the grid was far harder than I anticipated which has probably upped the difficulty slightly. There are definitely some unusual entries in this grid…
This meta came into my mind fully-formed last night. I couldn't wait to construct it, so here I am supervising a year 7 German extra gridding away! This is not intended to be a very difficult meta: consider it an "amuse-bouche" for the brain (which…
Doing well in school is hard work. I should know: I'm a teacher! OK, so it's also hard for students, too, at least the ones who want to do well. What does success in school look like? Give this puzzle a shot, and you just might find out. The answer…
