Thanks Sam! I like the concept of the doubles - though I found for some that it wasn't obvious when the answer was a double, with the clue leading only to the one word, whilst some were more obviously doubles
That's fair! The way I had thought of it in my head was that there was an implicit "x2" after the construction part of every across clue, regardless of how many words the final answer was, but I never did specify that anywhere - for something like this, do you think it would be best to do something to highlight which answers have the bonus rule applying to it?
You could maybe do that, depends if you think that would make it too easy - I think the main thing is to make it consistent, either they always only point to one repetition in the ruleset or they always have to indicate both
Which specific clues are you referring to? The wordplay all seemed to indicate only one half of the definition for me. Or maybe I’m misunderstanding you?
I guess I’m not seeing it. Def: “sleep well”=NIGHT NIGHT, and wordplay=“Sir, I said” (hom. “knight”=NIGHT) seems ok to me

Yay! I really enjoyed the theme! This is also the first time I was able to finish one of your puzzles without assistance. Looking forward to your next one!
