  Nice one! For feedback on 3A, I tend to find it more fair when something like "head" is indicating just the first letter instead of an arbitrary number of letters, but that may just be a preference.

  Congratulations! This is the first cryptic this yank successfully solved. I still don’t understand how most of the clues work, but we’re a little slow on this side of the pond. Being American probably helped with 2-down. Thanks for making me feel smart.

    Yes! As a Yankee cryptic noob myself, that is a compliment of the highest order. I have absolutely found, and still fine, that the answers sometimes clicks and I have no reason why. It is a delightful quality of the cryptic. I find that these are also a lot of fun to construct. Thanks for your wonderfully positive and helpful feedback!
