Here's the wash-up as I see it:

ACROSS. 1A. ||Containment of "he is shortly" = HE'S in "court" = CT.|| 5A. ||Hidden reversed in andrOIDARchitecture.|| 6A. ||Even letters in "strange".|| 7A. ||"Cruel" = MEAN + last letter of "insult".||

DOWN. 1D. ||Containment of "liquor" = RUM in "empty club" = CB.|| 2D. ||Deletion of "Trump's first" = T from "Tea Party host" = HATTER.|| 3D. ||Homophone of "waves" = SINES.|| 4D 8A. ||"Excessively" = TOO, containment of "busy at first" = B in "singer" = THRUSH.||

in the clue for 4D, it says "and 7A" instead of "and 8A".

A bit more of a challenge for me than usual, took 3 or 4 full runs through to finish. But I always enjoy your contributions!
