  ACROSS. 1A. "first shown" = S, "flapper" = WING. 5A. Barbie's valentines are addressed TO KEN. 6A. "Crop" = BEET around last letter of "farmer". 7A. anag. "good" = G + YARN.

  DOWN. 2D. Hidden in "tWO VENetian". 3D. "Republican" = R, after "new" = N, "first lady" = EVE. 4D. Reversal (turns up) of "pungent smell" = TANG. 5D. Homophone of "yours truly" = TUBER.
