        I probably should have left a comment earlier to avoid confusion. It's RSTLNE (which runs diagonal through the puzzle). Those are the freebie letters given to contestants during the last puzzle on "Wheel of Fortune."

          Ah when I used to watch in the 80s, they didn't give those letters!

            Didn't know that! Looks like they introduced the current freebie letters in 1988. Even wilder is that Pat Sajak and Vanna White have been on the show for 40(!) years.

        Very nice! had a feeling it had to be a game show... was initially thinking The Price is Right, but I couldn't see anything in there about getting your pets spayed or neutered! Hah.
