Found the five rabbits and was astounded at first that the name wasn't FIVER. But the awkward clue for IBISES was my entry to the second level. Great puzzle!
Thank you! Yeah, I had to get a little creative on the IBISES clue, but I needed that "I" in that part of the grid. At least it's helping solvers with the second step.

Well, that tied up nicely once I saw step two! Part of what took me so long was that I thought step one might be entirely what it said it was, so I should ignore it and look for something else :-)
Thanks Laura. Yeah, typically solvers should ignore the rabbit holes, but for this puzzle they need to search them out.

Searched for hidden words. Searched for common features. Studied the clues. FINALLY looked carefully at the grid and ... whoa. There it was! Terrific puzzle!
Thanks Wendy. Yeah, the 5 rabbits (10 entries total) and 5 alternate answers put a lot of constraints on the puzzle resulting in some challenging fill in places. Glad you were challenged and rewarded!

Great puzzle, Cap'n! Grid was tough in parts, but enjoyed the challenge. Saw what was going on right away (but not during the grid solve), and pieced (see what I did there) it together. Thanks for sharing!!
Yikes. I did not know Ricochet, I forgot that Cadbury made eggs, and I didn't catch on to the title till well after I'd gotten the answer, which made it all even better.
