Hopefully the clues all parse properly, but this whole crossword exists because of one clue that fell into my brain from nowhere.

    Thanks Errol, great puzzle! Completed with the silly error of having a 'U' at the start of 8D from an earlier guess and not noticing it! 6D was a particularly good clue, I thought

      Thanks, Womble! I hate it when typos like that happen - you can't find them for love nor money! Glad you liked the clues, too - I think this is my best effor on here yet - 16A's my favourite, but finding the anagram of 14D was a good moment!
