Thanks for posting; I found you puzzle quite challenging.
    3D Indirect anagram.
1D In the UK, "halve" is pronounced differently to the US pronunciation (UK /hɑːv/ US /hæv/) so it doesn't work as a homophone for "have" in the UK.
1A Sorry, I am mystified by the wordplay. I would appreciate an explanation.
5A Again, I am mystified by the wordplay. I would appreciate an explanation

I think in 1A lewdness is RAUNCH. Drop the A and agitate to get CHURN, which also means agitate. In 5A the hippie gathering is a be-in, which is tailed by G for G-man. I too found this difficult but interesting.

Thanks for replying; again, terms that are not common parlance in my part of the world; never heard of a "be-in". RAUNCH is an American noun which I have not seen in use in the UK; it isn't in Chambers. I'm unhappy with the indirect anagrams.

Sorry, I forgot to add, my abbreviation list does not have A = act

I appreciate it, Oliver. Is Chambers the soul authority to which you look? If not, are there any other lists, guides or other materials you find authoritative, instructive, or would otherwise recommend?

@Jwords had a similar experience and questions. Thankfully, @Hector beat me to the explanation! Thanks, Hector!
I am very grateful for the feedback! I am still getting a grip on the rules and customs. It will take some time to find the right difficulty and tone for my puzzles. I am experimenting with different cluing methods, and I tried a couple of indirect anagrams in this puzzle knowing that I struggle with them myself. Thank you for taking the time to solve my puzzles and sharing your insight!

Thanks for the reply; most published cryptics do not use indirect anagrams, seeing them as unfair.

Thanks for posting, but unfortunately not solvable for me! The 2D homophone unfortunately doesn’t work in my accent and I have never been able to see and solve an indirect anagram (3D), you never encounter them in the cryptics I’m used to (which doesn’t mean you can’t use them, just that they’re hard to solve!). I also can’t see how 1A and 5A work, but I’m sure that’s just on me! Thanks regardless.

Woohoo! Can't believe I got it-- not because the clueing is bad, butbecause I'm still trying to figure out cryptics in general. This was fun, thank you :)
