  I give up, what does 6a mean? I've heard "put up your dukes" referring to your fists, but never battles.

    Hi Mike, I meant it as the verb, as in 'dukes it out' - to fight it out. Might be a little tenuous, I was being a bit sneaky with the clues in this one
