Nice crossword, but I'm stumped on the meta (just guessed it). My first thought was that it the dots (and connecting them) would be the shape of a specific brand's glass; this could be sam adams' glass, but maybe only with a little shift at the top. At any rate, I'm stumped.
Very nice puzzle, guessed the meta answer, but reading the comments after helped me understand what was going on, well hidden! My first guess was RADLER, which is an anagram of the non-linear circled letter in the middle, which would have been quite apt for the theme ;)
Definitely needed the nudges. I was focusing on the clues that actually contained the word "beer", of which there were several. I thought that fit with the title. Oh well...

Finally got it, but only after the nudges. I don't think that qualifies me for the drawing. I'm not familiar with many beers, but I have heard of this one. I should have thought to look closer at the clues!!
