Kia Ora

· Por JeffsPuzzles · Publicado 2024-02-14T12:30:58.291Z

Constructor's Note
Following last week's ode to Australia, here's a gridded toast to New Zealand, the most beautiful country I've ever visited. "Kia ora" is an indigenous phrase used as a warm greeting or farewell or to say thank you. (Not to be confused wiht a Kia Rio, which is a Korean subcompact, or Rita Ora, who is a British singer born in what's now Kosovo of Albanian parents).

Fun, thank you! Enjoyed the solve and the memories. 9D was particularly funny. My attempt at a NZ-themed puzzle (be kind, it was my very first) is here.

Thanks, Sendhil. I did your puzzle, which was quite enjoyable, but more to the point I'm thrilled to have found out about your family travels and your blog - I've read several articles already and look forward to reading the others later today. I'm heading to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand next month so I'm already taking copious notes!

Awesome! My blogging discipline fell apart well before we got to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, but I have lots of itineraries and notes, so feel free to ping me on the Discord or elsewhere if you want to chat!

I'm Australian, not Kiwi, but still loving the Antipodean theme. It's probably about time I visited the neighbours again!
