          That was fun. I actually figured out the theme pretty early (for me) because I was sure that 15A should be "BAT", and as soon as I filled in 11D, 12D, and 16D, it clicked. Thank you!

            Nice one! I put the more obscure clues at the top, hoping that most Americans wouldn't be familiar with cricket to know for sure, then put the definitely-only-one-possible answer INLAY/LIN at the bottom to help people piece it together before the revealer. Thanks for playing!
