You caught me with "B" for "second" (letter, I presume) in 1D. I think 4D is a typo for UMAMI and I missed the parse on 5D. Good fun everywhere else; I especially liked 8A.
Thank you for an entertaining cryptic. I think that 4D should be UMAMI. 1D I am unsure about "leave" as a synonym for BOUNCE; I can't find it in Chambers. "Dismiss" might have been a better choice.
Bounce is a slang word, so I’m not sure that it would be in Chambers. I’m interested in using contemporary slang to make puzzles more accessible to younger people. Once you start thinking about it, there are hundreds of abbreviations and words with strange double meanings in contemporary language. It’s perfect for cryptics; although Chambers wouldn’t help to solve puzzles that used it!
Savoury flavour when fellow does a headstand between solver and setter (5) There is a typo here! The second letter of the grid entry (incorrectly spelled) is ‘N’
