    an ambigram reads different when read in different directions - in this case, reading right-side-up gives the clues for the first grid, and reading upside-down gives the clues for the second

      SPOILERS in case you have a hard time deciphering the author's note: for the top grid, the acrosses are Help, Certain Apple, polishes, chi follower, and the downs are show, “my turn,” smears and CBS hit. For the bottom grid, the acrosses are Xenon for one, war god, belle’s suitor, limb, and the downs are chatter, region, scorch, add up.
