  Thanks for posting. 2D I don't accept "on drugs" as an anagrind. 4A I have never seen "VID" as a synonym of "film". Perhaps it is another outlandish Americanism. 3D Please parse, I don't see how to get SWIRL from the clue.

    VID I’ll concede, I vaguely recall seeing it somewhere but you’re right that it doesn’t really work, will certainly steer clear in future. I think the worse faux-pas is clueing it like that with only the i’s as crossers.

      Thanks awfully for the feedback. Re: anagrinds; I use the lists available online. Could you advise on how you searched Google to get an Independent and Times puzzle, please? It would help me enormously in the future. I hope this isn't asking too much of you.

  Personally I really liked 4A, I think "vid" being indicated by "film" works really well, but maybe I just spend too much time online. Can you explain 5A? I don't see where the "I" comes from

    M from "money's primarily" and "awful toilet paper" is "one ply" - I PLY. I only got it by searching for synonyms of "suggest", knowing that the second letter was M.

    For 5A: Awful toilet paper = 1 PLY (as opposed to 2 ply etc.) = IPLY
