Constructor's Note
This is a cryptic crossword, in the style of the Crosaire in The Irish Times newspaper. In particular this one takes after the Saturday grid, where the four answers on the border of the puzzle follow a theme.

      Thanks for the solve! I always worry setting a "harder" clue, it's a toss up between the satisfaction of when the penny drops for a tricky clue vs making a puzzle more accessible. Though my dad complains that the actual Irish Times Crosaires have gotten "too easy" these days with the new setters, so maybe some harder clueing is fine. Anyway, glad you enjoyed :)
