Solved this one on paper, so ignore my "time" here, but this was a real toughie! Some beautiful stuff in 12A, 26A, 1D, 13D, 19D, and my favorite, 20D. Some that I didn't quite parse (but were still solid surfaces) in 10A, 4D, 17D, and 24D. Some that were just too tough for me, like 14A (I've heard of her, but I wouldn't have defined her that way in her rookie season) or 17D (new word for me!), but that's not a deterrent, just a tough spot. The only clue I thought might be a bit unfair was 15D: [provider] sounds like a company, whereas "service" would be the type of thing you buy from a provider (like CABLE). Great work overall!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Some explanations:
10A: Artistic director = A, following THE; Train in Spain stays mainly = TREN minus its last letter.
4D: VI C.E. (6 of the Common Era)
17D: Homophone of "The Odyssey"
24D: This one was indeed tricky: it's a phonetic wordplay. 23 = EMOJI, with ME backwards deleted.
14A: I wrote the puzzle while Clark was setting the all-time NCAA points record, but I didn't get around to posting it until a little while later.
I am exhausted lol. 20D is incredible, perfect clue. 24D was the last one for me, had to brute force it as I was not aware of that word, and looking at the parse you posted, would not have been able to work it out from that. Those sneaky cross references always trip me up. Thanks for the great puzzle!
